Karalyn Mayne

Karalyn joins us as an OT who, after obtaining her Bachelor of Science at Thompson Rivers University, completed her Masters of Occupational Therapy at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. Karalyn loves being an OT because it allows her to support and empower her clients to meet their own goals using a blend of critical thinking, science and creativity. When Karalyn’s not out hiking, biking, boating or swimming, you can find her frequently visiting her extended family at their properties on Adams Lake.

Elecia Noseworthy

Elecia comes to us from the town of Grand Falls-Windsor in Newfoundland and Labrador. Elecia has her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University. In the Kamloops office, she works with both adults and children and she loves the diversity of OT work – no two days are ever the same! She appreciates getting to see firsthand the positive changes that occupational therapy makes in people’s lives. When Elecia isn’t in the office, you can find her playing volleyball, travelling and spending time outdoors – usually with her Kamloops co-worker and best friend, Olivia!

Jackie Parobec

Jackie is Meridian’s Kamloops office manager and also acts as contract lead for our WSBC Community OT contract and Extended Care facilities contracts. She completed her degrees at the University of Alberta before settling in Kamloops to follow her passion for complex discharge planning, seating assessments and prescription, PTSD/anxiety treatment, and residential care. Jackie appreciates the diversity of her career as an OT, with the opportunity to assist her clients in the physical, cognitive, and emotional domains of their recovery. Outside of the office, Jackie loves spending time on the lakes and trails of sunny Kamloops with her husband and her dog, Parker.

Danielle Setlakwe

Danielle brings experience in chronic pain, mental health, developmental disabilities and cognitive impairments to our Kamloops team. By way of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, she completed her Bachelor of Science – Biology at Acadia University and went on to complete her Masters in Occupational Therapy at Queen’s University. A recent transplant to the Kamloops area and an avid runner and skier, she’s looking forward to exploring all that BC has to offer. She also states that she’s a major Harry Potter fan!

Mariah Carvalho

Mariah grew up in small northern town of BC and has enjoyed exploring the various places across Canada she moved to for her education. She enjoys figure skating, dance, yoga and cross-country skiing. Mariah became an OT because she enjoys helping empower her clients and supporting them in returning to their meaningful occupations.

Nikki Reid

Nikki grew up in beautiful Norris Point, Newfoundland and now calls Penticton home. Nikki has her Bachelor of Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland and her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Dalhousie University. Nikki has a special interest in working with children and loves seeing them progress and achieve their goals.

Outside of work, Nikki enjoys playing volleyball and hockey. and like most of the Meridian Staff, she loves dogs!

Her favourite part about being an OT is the diversity of her clients and their programs – no two days are ever the same!

Nadine Fort

As one of our Kamloops SLP’s, Nadine brings her love of language and communication into her work with both children and families. She received her Master of Arts in Communication Disorders from University of Minnesota Duluth. Her career started in Manitoba working in small rural and Metis communities in the North.   Later, she provided services to preschool and school aged children, their parents and the educators in the Brandon School Division in Manitoba. She brings to the SLP team an immense amount of experience working with children and their families and caregivers. She believes that parents and caregivers are a child’s best communication partner and focuses her interactions to support their skills to be their child’s best “therapist”. Nadine has raised 3 sons and now lives in Kamloops with her husband. They love to travel, having visited China, Japan, Thailand and Peru. They also love camping and kayaking so that they can pursue their passion for “loon stalking” in BC’s lakes and rivers!

Jordan Sernaggia

Jordan graduated from Simon Fraser University and holds a Bachelor of Science – Kinesiology, specializing in Active Health and Rehabilitation. Certified through Matheson, Jordan also provides Functional Capacity and Cost of Care Evaluations in our Kamloops office. Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and their dog, Pirate.  He volunteers with Special Olympics of BC coaching both powerlifting and soccer, and with the City of Kamloops coaching an adapted ice hockey team.  He stays active with hockey, snowboarding, hiking and rock climbing and keeps his adrenaline pumping with adventure sports like bungee jumping, skydiving and white-water rafting.  Jordan has an interest in nutrition and injury prevention & recovery which he has plenty of experience in – when he was younger he managed to break one arm playing hockey and, the day after his cast came off, broke the other arm snowboarding!

Thats right folks, you read the reviews. Ajeet graduated from UBC Okanagan with a Bachelors in Human Kinetics, specializing in Clinical Exercise Physiology. He is the rookie on the roster yet is able to provide the quality level of services that are expected from us here at Meridian. Ajeet pursued a career in physical rehabilitation as he is highly motivated to help clients reach their full potential. Outside of work, Ajeet can be found playing soccer or basketball to keep active. He also excels at looking busy in the office when he actually isn’t.  And just like Mike, he also watches sports.
